One of Instagram‘s newest features include memorialization, essentially including a small banner at the top of their profile that reads as such. The banner, highlighted in light gray, can be clicked on to give additional information about the motion.
As Sulli, SHINee‘s Jonghyun and KARA‘s Goo Hara are remembered lovingly by fans and family, the new function serves as a bittersweet reminder for fans who come to visit their page.
When one clicks on the banner, a small notification screen pops up, telling the reader, “this account has been memorialized. It is a space for to remember and seek comfort.”
A flower vase icon has been included as well, in Instagram’s signature colors.

The new function has been created in hopes to help those left behind better honor the fleeting moments they had with those that have passed on. Rest in peace to the three, bright stars K-Pop will sorely miss.
