Starship Entertainment Faces Backlash for Overlooking Fans’ Protests Against Debuting Alleged Rapist

Starship Entertainment will soon debut a new boy group called IDID. The last member to be added to the group is Park Junhwan, who was added not through votes, but through the judges’ picks. This led to great shock from fans and even the other members and guests during the ending ceremony.

Soon after it was announced that Junhwan would join the group in debut, accusations from alleged former classmates began to surface online. They claimed that he was not only misogynistic, but also slept around as a minor, and even frequently insulted and harassed women. In particularly serious accusations, it was claimed that he not only forced his then-girlfriend to engage in sexual activities without a condom, but he also harbored rape-like thoughts towards celebrities.

In light of these accusations, fans sent wreaths asking for his removal. The wreaths were sent to Starship Entertainment’s building, where they were openly displayed at the first floor.
