2022 was a year where a lot of things happened in the K-Pop scene. From departure, disbandment and hiatus, many groups also made their debut, some being really successful, mainly among girl groups. Modhaus

TripleS is a new group under MODHAUS that will establish the world’s first fan-participating girl group. They are expected to be a 24-member group that combines NFTs with K-Pop. They will rotate members between the group and sub-units all based on fans’ opinions. They have been said to debut in 2023. The TripleS sub-unit Acid Angel from Asia made its debut on Oct. 28, 2022, with the mini-album “Acid Angel from Asia: Access”. Their second sub-unit +(KR)ystal Eyes will be the next debut followed by a 10-member sub-unit. The group made their debut on February 13.

A.iRiD Official

A.iRiD is a new group under ONO Entertainment. It is still unclear whether they will make their debut in December or next year, but they already released a pre-debut single, ‘First Flight’, on Sep.1, 2022. A.iRiD stands for “iridescent“, and their fandom name is Ariel.

Regarding the members, Bell is the first Turkish-Azerbaijani idol, helping the group to gain popularity even before their debut from foreign fans. All four members were officially revealed as part of the lineup in July of this year.

LIMELIGHT Official

LIMELIGHT is a new group under 143 Entertainment. They released a pre-debut mini album on Sep.29, 2022, and debuted on February 14.

KANDIS Official

Kandis is a new group under 60DGRS. Even though their debut date is still unknown, they released a pre-debut mixtape “Show Me Your Vibe” on March 14, 2022.

Bebez Official

Bebez is a new group under BlockBerry Creative. Their debut date is still unknown, but they are really active on social media. The three members participated in the TV Show “Girls Planet 999“.

Inter Girls is a new group under BD Entertainment and YOMA Entertainment. They made their American debut on October 21, 2021, but the date of their Korean debut is still unclear.

JXENM Girls is a new group under JXENM Entertainment. They’re training in Korea and in the USA, and upload a lot of dance covers.

N-DAY is a new group under RJ Entertainment. The group underwent a lot of changes with its member lineup. The debut date is also still unclear.

ON AIR Official

ON AIR is a new group under JStar Entertainment. They should make their debut around February-March of next year and have begun to promote in Japan. Member Kimi participated in the TV Show “Produce 101” and made her solo debut on Aug. 25, 2017. Another member, SoHyeon also made her solo debut on Dec. 25, 2019.

Witchers Official

Witchers is a new group under Blooming Entertainment. Their debut date is still unknown, as it has been postponed due to COVID-19, health problems of the members, and internal circumstances of the company, according to a company’s notice.

Witches Official

WiTCHES is a new group under IN Media. Their debut date is still unknown, but they plan to release a mini album. Their fandom name is Switch.

TRACER is a new group under Gleamedia. Their debut date is still unknown, as they were supposed to make it in April of this year. They are still active on their social media, but fans are waiting for an update.

KELT9b (formerly called DMZA) is a new group under U S Media Group. They were supposed to make their debut in 2022 but no official date has been revealed yet.

NextU is a new group under Shinwha Entertainment. They are currently in the process of adding more members, and their debut date is still unknown.

Clear:I is an independent group. Their debut date is still unknown but they recently started to unveil individual pictures of the members.

Free In Sass is a new group under AMX Entertainment. They recently started to unveil teaser photos, but their debut date is still unclear. In the mean time, they’re releasing covers on their social media.

GLX is a new global group under Shinwha Entertainment. Their debut date is still unknown, but as almost every member is part of a dance crew, the anticipation for their debut is already present. The group’s slogan is “we will go beyond the state, religion, ideology, and politics. New K-Pop super girl group“.

Trainee A Official

Trainee A (temporary name) is a new group under Big Hit Music. They were set to debut in 2022 but their debut was postponed to an unknown date.

SEVEN STARS Official

THE7 is a new group under Ganada Entertainment. The Thai members of the group were selected through a survival show. The group debuted on January 29, 2023.

XODIAC is a new group under the Chinese company One Cool Jasco. The group has debuted in Korea last April 25. They are set to debut in China as well, even though they declared their debut date would be in the second half of 2022.

ALLART BOYZ is a new group under ALLART Entertainment. Their debut date is still unclear.

AMBITION is a new group under ShowBox Entertainment. Members Kyle is a former contestant on the TV Show “Produce 101” (season 2), and Ryu used to work as CLC’s choreographer. TaeHo was also the leader of the group F.ABLE until his departure, a few months after his debut. Their debut date is still unclear, but they started their pre-debut promotion in Japan.

BXB is a 5-member boy group that has debuted on January 30 under Wolfburn. They started to release pre-debut songs since June 2022.

THE BIGDIPPER is a new group under A+ Entertainment. They were formerly known as A+ Boys, and their debut date is still unknown. However, they released a pre-debut album, “Shining Star”, on Oc. 27, 2022. Their fandom’s name is Gomie.

8TURN is a new group under MNH Entertainment. They are debuted on January 30, 2023 with their 1st mini album “8TURNRISE”.

DIGNITY is a new group under PCS Entertainment. One of the members, Luo, was a former member of the group MASC. Their debut date is unknown but they released a pre-debut single, ‘RAMBO’.

MAXIMUM is a pre-debut group. Member WanShin was part of the group CICI under the name Won. Their date is still unknow but their fandom name is Minimum.

45. NCT Hollywood (Tentative Name)

SM Entertainment announced its plans to debut an American localization team for NCT. The members will be selected from an American audition program that is being produced by the agency with the American film production company, MGM. They are scheduled to debut in 2024 and will be active in the US.

46. NCT Tokyo

SM Entertainment

Another sub-unit of NCT that SM Entertainment is preparing is NCT Tokyo. The said unit will be based in Japan. Among the speculated members are, of course, the current Japanese member of NCT: Yuta. They are expected to debut on the 1st half of 2023.

RIIZE Official

SM Entertainment is said to debut a whole new boy group in 2023. The group is said to be debuting on the 2nd half of 2023. The speculated members are the new male SM ROOKIES.

Update: SM Entertainment announced that they will be debuting RIIZE on September 4, 2023. They boy group will be debuting with 7 members, including former NCT members Shotaro and SungChan.

LUN8 Official

Fantagio has announced that they aiming to debut their new group, LUN8, on the first half of this year. The label has revealed 8 trainees who will be debuting: Ian, JunWoo, Takuma, JinSu, EunSeop, Chael, Ji EunHo, and DoHyun.

ZEROBASEONE Official

Mnet is forming a boy group through “Boys Planet”, the boy group version of the “Girl’s Planet 999”. The survival idol program will be broadcasting its first episode on February 23. However, the boy group formed after the program yet to be confirmed to be debuting in the same year.

50. “R U Next?” Girl Group

Another idol survival program that is being anticipated is “R U Next?”, in which a girl group is expected to be form. “R U Next?” is idol survival program hosted by JTBC and HYBE in collaboration. The group to be formed through this program will BE:LIFT LAB’s first girl group. “R U Next?” is currently ongoing, with the program expected to wrap up on September 1.

Update: The final debuting trainees are already announced, and they will be debuting as “I’LL IT”. The exact date of their debut is yet to be disclosed.

51. FE:VERSE

“GIRLS RE:VERSE” Official

“GIRL’S RE:VERSE” is a idol survival show that aims to create a virtual girl group of 5 members. The survival program has 30 participants who dream to debut in a new world of virtual reality. The participants’ names and identities are hidden, which is a fresh concept offered by the survival show. The debut date of the girl group to be formed after the show is not yet confirmed.

Update: The “GIRLS RE:VERSE” final debut group has been announced and so has their group name. Their group name will be FE:VERSE and you can read about which idols make up the group in this article.

FANTASY BOYS Official

“Fantasy Boys” or “My Teenage Boys” is an idol survival program to be launched by MBC. This program is the male version of the previous idol survival program “My Teenage Girls”. The program is scheduled to start airing on February 2023. Unlike the group formed in the previous season, the final debut group is likely to work as a short-term project group. The group formed after the program wraps up not yet confirmed to debut within the same year.

HYBE and Geffen Records are collaborating in launching the first-ever HYBE X Geffen Global Girl Group Audition, which aims to create their first US-based girl group. The exact date of debut of the girl group formed through the program is yet to be announced.

BOYNEXTDOOR Official

KOZ Entertainment is also scheduled to debut a boy group in 2023. The agency has been said to be preparing for the debut of a boy group since the previous year, and it even held an audition program to find the perfect rapper for the said boy group. The boy group is slated to debut in the 1st quarter of 2023.

Update: KOZ Entertainment has announced that their new boy group “BOYNEXTDOOR” is debuting on May 30, 2023. The revealed debuting members are SungHo, LeeHan, WoonHak, JaeHyun, TaeSan, and RiWoo.

Another subsidiary under HYBE, PLEDIS Entertainment, is scheduled to debut a boy group in 2023. It is rumored that PLEDIS’ trainee, Daniel, who participated in “I-LAND” will be part of the debuting members of this group.

MAVE Official

MAVE is a virtual girl group debuting under METAVERSE Entertainment and is produced together with Kakao Entertainment. The girl group is debuted on January 25.

SWING Entertainment and nCH Entertainment is said to be in collaboration of a new group. The new group is said to be debuting in 2023, but no other further information was revealed.

BIGHIT was also reported to be debuting a new boy group in 2023. There is yet to be an announcement of the lineup of debuting members.

60. A2K Project Girl Group

JYP Entertainment, Republic Records, and Federal Films team up for the competition series “A2K”, which aims to form the next global girl group. The auditions were held last year in September in 5 cities in the US (Atlanta, Chicago, New York, Dallas, and LA). The semi-finalists of the competition will be flown to Korea for an intensive training. The group is scheduled to debut in the last quarter of 2023.

PROJECT C Official

PROJECT C is another group scheduled to debut under JYP Entertainment and Fanling Culture, the Chinese division of the agency. The pre-debut group is consisted of 5 trainees, but it is reported that group will be debuting with 6 members, and is rumored to be debuting in the 1st half of 2023. 62. Nizi Project Season 2 Boy Group

JYP Entertainment once again partnered with Sony Music to debut a boy group who will be active in Japan through the Japanese audition show “Nizi Project Season 2”. The global auditions were held in 2021, and finally, the group is scheduled to be debut in the 2nd half of 2023.

Evermore Muse Official

Evermore Muse is a Evermore Entertainment’s pre-debut team. The members include Jo YiYeon (Participant in survival program “Youth Star”), Lee SunWoo (Participant in “Girls Planet 999”), and Nam YuJu (Another participant in survival program “Youth Star”). The girl group was supposed to debut in 2021 but since they didn’t debut then, fans suspect that they will finally be debuting in 2023. Check out their updates through their Instagram account.

64. Hi-Hat Entertainment Group

Hi-Hat Entertainment is also reported to be debuting a group in 2023. It has not been revealed whether the debuting group will be a girl, a boy or a co-ed group. The agency is said to be holding an audition on April.

65. ADYA

ADYA Official

starting House mate is a pre-debut girl group under the starting House Entertainment. The agency announced that they will be debuting a girl group on 2022 but as they haven’t made the debut, fans are expecting that 2023 will be their debuting year.

Update: ADYA debuted under starting House Entertainment on May 9, 2023. The debut group is composed of 5 members: YeonSu, SeoWon, SeNa, ChaeEun, and SeungChae.

KISS OF LIFE Official

S2 Entertainment is reported to be debuting a girl group of 5 members, and it is rumored that former JYP trainee and “SIXTEEN” contestant Natty, Julie Han (Former YG & Swing trainee), and Belle (who composed (G)I-DLE MiYeon’s tracks ‘Softly’ & ‘Charging’; she also was behind the female vocals for NCT Mark’s Child) will be part of their lineup. There are no annoucement of the exact date of their debut.

Update: KISS OF LIFE has debuted in July 5 with 4 members, including the 3 mentioned trainees above, and HaNeul.

A girl group produced by CDL Entertainment, and co-produced by HYBE Labels Japan is scheduled to debut in 2023. The group was formed from the idol survival program “iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~”. Update: The girl group from audition program “iCON Z ~Dreams For Children~” will be debuting as MOONCHILD, with 5 members – Ruan, Uwa, Anri, Hana, and Mirano. They are scheduled to debut on May 5.

69. MZMC Speculated Girl Group

BEATS Entertainment is also expected to be debuting a girl group after the management agency accepted applications to audition in 2021. Further information is yet to be revealed by the agency.

IOK Company is also said to be preparing to debut a boy group since 2021 but has not yet debuted any group since, so fans are expecting the management company to be debuting the group this year. No further information about the group is revealed at the moment.

74. RARE HOUSE

GGA also held auditions last year for the girl group they are planning to launch on the 2nd half of 2023. It was said that the girl group will have around 5 to 7 members.

Catch The Young Official

Catch The Young (formerly know as Evermore The Young) is a trainee boy band under Evermore Entertainment. The currently members of the band are NamHyun, KiHoon, and SaNi. X;IN Official

ChoCo Official

ChoCo Entertainment has announced that they will be debuting a K-Pop group which will usher in the 5th Generation of K-Pop. The pre-debut group is called “ChoCo” and the current members are Jake, Anpan, TJ and Sean. ChoCo’s debut is highly anticipated especially as Francis Kim, who worked with big names in K-Pop such as  NCT DREAM, TWICE, EXO’s Chen and BaekHyun, and BIBI, was reported have officially joined the production team of ChoCo.
