Jin’s (BTS) Company and Baek Jong Won Accused of Misleading Product Labeling – K-GEN

Jini’s Lamp, the brand of spirits co -founded by Jin de BTS and the restaurateur Baek Jong Won, reacted to the recent accusations of violation of the Korean law on the labeling of the origin of the products.

On September 24, a representative of the company published an official declaration, saying that “All products comply with the regulations of the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Food and Drug Security”.

“All our products comply with the law and correctly labeled with exact original information. However, when putting online on certain sales platforms, a temporary error revealed the details of another product. As soon as we discovered it, we have corrected the information ”said the company, insisting that the labels of the bottles themselves had no error.

The company also clarified the nature of the project:

“Jini’s Lamp has no connection with The Born Korea. Mr. Baek has invested as a private individual. The distributor Yesan Dogga (Baeksooldoga) is also a separate legal entity. »»

The controversy broke out after a citizen group filed a complaint on September 22 with the National Service for the Management of the Quality of Agricultural Products. According to the complaint, the online product pages of the range of flavored highballs displayed “Korean origin” ingredients, while the detailed sheets actually mentioned a concentrate of plum from Chile and a watermelon concentrate from the United States.

In response to criticism, the company has changed online labeling, replacing the mention “domestic” by “see detailed description”.

As a reminder, Jini’s Lamp was founded in December 2022 in the county of Yesan, and launched his first distilled alcohol, Igin, in December 2023.
