Hwang Jung Min And Ha Jung Woo In Talks To Make Drama Comeback After Several Years – KpopHit

Ha Jung Woo and Hwang Jung Min are both positively reviewing offers for an upcoming drama!

On January 16, OSEN reported that Hwang Jung Min and Ha Jung Woo are in talks to appear in upcoming drama “Suriname” (literal title). “Suriname” is about a Korean man who becomes a drug lord in Suriname, a country in South America.

Following the reports, the agencies of both actors released statements. Ha Jung Woo’s agency Walk House Company stated, “He is positively reviewing an offer to appear in ‘Suriname.’” They added, “There has yet to be confirmed decisions regarding the broadcast.”

Hwang Jung Min’s agency SEM Company also shared, “He is positively reviewing an offer to appear in ‘Suriname.’ Nothing is confirmed yet.”

“Suriname” is slated to be the first drama directed by top movie director Yoon Jong Bin, who previously worked with Hwang Jung Min on the 2018 film “The Spy Gone North.” If confirmed, this would be Hwang Jung Min’s first drama in eight years, as well as Ha Jung Woo’s first in 13 years.

This drama is also garnering lots of attention for its incredible production cost, predicted to be approximately 40 billion won (approximately $34.5 million). Its per episode cost is expected to be the highest among all Korean dramas, topping shows like “Mr. Sunshine” and “Arthdal Chronicles.”

“Suriname” plans to air in 2021.
