BTS’ Agency Records 36% Increase in Revenue Amid COVID-19 Pandemic + Group Continues Domination on Billboard Charts – KpopHit

There is no denying that BTS is among the K-Pop acts who made it big in 2020. Aside from releasing two albums in just a year, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, V and RM have also broken various music records, proving that they are, indeed, the biggest boyband in recent times.

BTS’ Agency Big Hit Entertainment Had the Best Financial Year Despite COVID-19 Pandemic

On Tuesday, Feb. 23, Big Hit Entertainment revealed, in its 2020 financial report, that it recorded 36% overall increase in revenue, 19% increase in net profit and 44% increase in operating profit last year. Moreover, it divulged that the company brought in a net profit of $77,481,818.20 USD, an operating profit of $127,804,141.26 USD and revenue of $715,737,214.18 USD.

In the fourth quarter of 2020, the agency of BTS also recorded its highest fiscal quarter with $47,189.102,10 US operating profit and $280,714,290.30 USD in revenue. It was even reported that BTS, ENHYPEN, SEVENTEEN and TXT have contributed more than 40% of the Big Hit Entertainment’s revenue after these groups sold a total of 13.22 million albums last year.

If that is not enough, the merchandise sales of Big Hit artists and other fan club related items boosted by over 50% despite the fact that the number of concerts and performances have significantly diminished due to the perils brought by the present global health crisis.

Big Hit Entertainment proudly said, in a statement, that the company has achieved a huge milestone last year as it generated its highest income even during the COVID-19 pandemic. It shared that its solid business structure has helped the agency in boosting its revenue, including the continuous expansion of its business through acquisitions and the constant growth of its talents.

In the end, the company disclosed that it would continue to grow in the coming years as it constantly attempts to widen its reach. Moreover, Big Hit Entertainment stated that it would continue its partnership with other platforms just like it’s the latest collaboration with the Universal Music Group and the transfer of Naver’s V Live into the Weverse Company.

BTS’ ‘Dynamite’ Continues Streak on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. Top 10 Chart

Meanwhile, the “Dynamite” track of BTS remains one of the most listened songs in the world, as per the latest Billboard tally. The said song of Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, J-Hope, Suga, V and RM placed at No. 4 on the Billboard Globa Excl. U.S. Top 10 chart.

“Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo has continued its domination the tally. Placing on second and third spots are “Blinding Lights” and “Save Your Tears” both by The Weeknd. “Dakiti” by Bad Bunny & Jhay Cortez nabbed the No. 5 spot.

Other tracks that made it big on the latest Billboard Globa Excl. U.S. Top 10 chart include “Bandido” by Myke Towers and Juhn, “The Business” by Tiesto, “Mood” by 24kGolden and iann dior, “Calling My Phone” by Lil Tjay and 6LACK, and “34+35” by Ariana Grande.

“Dynamite” by BTS also made it to the Top 10 of the Billboard Global 200 chart. “Drivers License” by Olivia Rodrigo topped the tally with “Calling My Phone” by Lil Tjay and 6LACK, “Save Your Tears” and “Blinding Lights” by The Weeknd, and “34+35” by Ariana Grande, Doja Cat and Megan Thee Stallion on the first five spots.
