BLACKPINK fans have reason to celebrate as members Jennie and Rose gear up to release new solo music, marking their first independent projects in over a year.

Jennie, who recently announced her return to solo work, confirmed on her official website Tuesday that she will release a new single titled “Mantra” on Oct. 11. She also shared links for fans to pre-save the track on platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music.

In the weeks before the announcement, Jennie excited her global fanbase with teaser videos and images, sparking widespread curiosity about the album. One clip, featuring the phrase “CALLING ALL PRETTY GIRLS” and released on Sept. 25, generated particular buzz, capturing the attention not only of fans but also fellow artists around the world.

Last year, Jennie made history by becoming the first Korean female solo artist to earn platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America for her collaboration with The Weeknd and Lily Rose Depp on the song “One Of The Girls.”

In April, the music video for her 2019 solo track “SOLO,” released under YG Entertainment, surpassed 1 billion views on YouTube, making her the first K-pop female artist to achieve this milestone.

Following Jennie’s announcement, fellow BLACKPINK member Rose also revealed plans for a solo release. Her agency, The Black Label, announced Wednesday through an official release that Rose’s first full-length solo album, “rosie,” will be released on Dec. 6.

Rose’s upcoming album is set to feature 12 tracks, with the singer actively participating in the writing and composing of every track. According to the agency, the new album “promises to deliver a deeply personal narrative, reflecting her unique style and experiences.”

Rose has already seen solo success with her 2021 single “On The Ground,” which debuted at No. 70 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 chart. In June, she signed with The Black Label, led by hitmaker Teddy, and secured a record deal with Atlantic Records, laying the foundation for her career both in Korea and abroad.
