Apink Eunji’s stalker loses her appeal trial

Apink Eunji’s stalker has been found guilty once again in appellate court.

According to legal insiders, the Seoul Central District Court dismissed the appeal of 50-year-old Cho, who was charged with violating the Stalking Crime Prevention Act and other related offenses. The prosecution’s appeal for a stronger punishment was also dismissed.

This past August, Cho was sentenced to 1 year in prison with a 2-year probationary period along with a 100,000 won ($74.70 USD) fine, 120 hours of community service, and 40 hours of lectures on preventing stalking crimes. As her appeal was dismissed, the original ruling will be upheld.

Cho was indicted on the charges of sending a total of 544 messages to Eunji using text messages and social media, asking, “Will you accept me as your maid and companion?” Cho, who was working in the delivery industry, also stands accused of using her motorcycle to stalk Eunji’s vehicle from KBS‘ main building to a hair and makeup salon in Gangnam-gu, Seoul in May of 2022. In July of 2021, she was lurking in the entrance of the apartment where Eunji lives and was reportedly discovered by police.
