This was her first solo release since her debut, and her chart results were initially low despite her being a member of a popular group, which is not out of the ordinary. However, the song began to rise on Melon’s daily chart, jumping 277 spots from September 14 to September 15.

The song has continued to rise, breaking into Melon’s Top 100, and sharing that she cried over the news.

  • This morning while I was at a  schedule
  • I heard the news that I made it into the Melon Top 100.
  •  I cried.
  • Thank you so, so much for listening to my very precious album. Really, thank you.

Now, she has been given an even bigger reason to cry — her very first win!

For the September 23 edition of MTV’s THE SHOW, Dayoung was nominated for first place against IDID and AxMXP, and took home the win with 6590 points.

Dayoung was very emotional and began crying as she gave her speech. As she began her encore, WJSN members Exy, Bona, and Yeonjung joined her on stage and danced alongside CRAVITY‘s Hyeongjun.

As of writing, Dayoung’s “Body” has hit 50 on Melon’s Top100 chart, her highest peak yet, and over 600 from her initial entry!

Congrats to Dayoung!
